Hyde: RIP Larry King, Miami Dolphins voice, fan and storyteller | Commentary

The folder is there, as always. Old. Dusty. My office is crammed with papers, open books, yesterday’s research and folders stacked with no sense of organization.

This particular folder took a moment to find. I had not seen it in years other than to toss it into another pile of other folders in some new drawer in the latest attempt at organization.

There it was: The Larry King folder. Six transcribed pages of typewritten notes from when, working on a book on the 1972 Dolphins, I interviewed the grand interviewer.

This might have got lost as his star rose across America, but there was a reason King was seen on occasion in recent years at some sports-styled interview wearing a No.
