Start with the cornerbacks. They’re the richest tandem in NFL history. Byron Jones was signed this offseason for $82.5 million. Xavien Howard’s deal for $72.5 million. They give the Miami Dolphins two shutdown cornerbacks to inflict the team’s full strategy toward winning in 2020.

But does it matter? When health is rule No. 1 in any NFL season, and doubled this odd one? This leads into the primary question of this new season that opens Sunday. It’s just that. All the questions. Walking into every season is like inhabiting a new and strange land, but this is the newest and strangest land for the NFL in general and the Dolphins specifically.
