Hurricanes survey future options at DE, including a surprise position change

Three Miami Hurricanes defensive ends are going to be high-end edge-rushing prospects in the 2021 NFL draft.

After Gregory Rousseau opted out of the 2020 season from the start, Jaelan Phillips and Quincy Roche combined to form one of top tandems nationally in the country. Both, after Phillips sat out a year off his transfer from UCLA and Roche came over from Temple, have now declared for the draft and opted out of Tuesday’s Cheez-It Bowl.

Losing so much talent at the position, the bowl game against No. 21 Oklahoma State in Orlando will serve as a preview of what 18th-ranked Miami has at defensive end going into next season.
