The Miami Hurricanes are finalizing a deal to hire Texas A&M defensive analyst Ishmael Aristide as an assistant coach, according to a Yahoo report on Saturday afternoon.
Aristide has deep recruiting roots in South Florida, which is what made him attractive to UM coach Manny Diaz, according to the report.
The Hurricanes had a complete coaching staff in place, but linebackers coach Travis Williams departed for UCF on Tuesday to become defensive coordinator under new Knights coach Gus Malzahn. Williams was hired from Auburn only weeks prior, but his decision opened a spot back up on the coaching staff.
