Orlando area high school basketball resumes Monday with holiday events that all had some COVID-19 hurdles to clear.
Windermere Prep is again hosting its Rock Holiday Classic Monday through Wednesday, but this time in showcase style with predetermined matchups for six teams that all have state rankings and winning records. The event was an eight-team tournament in previous years.
The host Lakers (5-3), No. 11 in the Sentinel Super 16 Orlando area rankings, play undefeated Christ Church Episcopal (7-0) of Greenville, S.C., on Monday. That matchup pits Christ Church’s 7-foot-1 center John Butler, an FSU signee, against Windermere Prep’s 6-11 senior, Elijah Hulsewe, who is gaining college attention.
