“We are rooting for our Rays to win the World Series and we’re also rooting for our Rays to relocate in time for Opening Day of 2028 right here in O-Town at beautiful Dreamland Field,” says Orlando Magic co-founder Pat Williams, who has been working diligently behind the scenes to bring Major League Baseball and, specifically, the Tampa Bay Rays to Orlando.
It was nearly a year ago when Williams called a news conference at a local restaurant and unveiled a potential logo and a potential nickname — the Orlando Dreamers — for Central Florida’s potential baseball team.
