Gators land Penn State scorer Myreon Jones, 3rd transfer to join Mike White’s squad

GAINESVILLE — Penn State leading scorer Myreon Jones is transferring to Florida, becoming the third player to leave another school to join Mike White’s Gators during the past several days.

Jones averaged 15.3 points as a junior last season for the Nittany Lions. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Birmingham, Ala., native shot just 39.4% from the field, but 39.5% from 3-point range. Jones, who announced his decision on Twitter, averaged 2.7 rebounds, two assists, 1.3 steals and 1.2 turnovers for an 11-14 squad.

White added transfers Brandon McKissic and CJ Felder last Friday after a trying 10-day stretch that left the Gators with just five active scholarship players on the roster.
