The shame isn’t that this year’s Florida State team won’t get to play in the Final Four or for the national championship after the Seminoles got dominated 76-58 Sunday by No. 1-seeded Michigan in the Sweet 16.
“Part of our motivation (was) having last year’s team on our minds and playing for those guys,” FSU redshirt junior RaiQuan Gray said earlier in the tournament.
And that’s why many in the college basketball world were rooting for beloved FSU coach Leonard Hamilton’s team to win it all this season; because he had an even better team last year that never got a chance to play in the coronavirus-canceled NCAA Tournament.
