There were some ups and downs between two state final four matches for the Freedom High boys volleyball team on Saturday.
Coach Gina McFerren found it troubling to negotiate the numerous speed bumps on the Archbishop McCarthy High School campus in South Florida.
By comparison, it was smooth sailing for the Patriots in their morning state semifinal. Freedom swept previously undefeated Royal Palm Beach by scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-16 in a 10 a.m. match.
The Patriots (29-2) will gladly make the bumpy entrance and exit one more time this afternoon to play for the state championship in a 4 p.
