Texas A&M and the Division I Council on Infractions announced Thursday they had reached an agreement on how to handle rules violations. Fisher accepted he and an assistant coach had “impermissible recruiting contact” with a high school prospect before his junior year.
Fisher was the head coach at Florida State for eight years from 2010-17 before leaving the Seminoles for Texas A&M on Dec. 1, 2017. One of his rule violations took place shortly after he was hired by the Aggies.
According to the NCAA, Fisher and an undisclosed assistant coach met with a prospect for “15-20 minutes” in his high school football coach’s office.
