Martez Ivey couldn’t remember the last time he wasn’t playing football. It had been a long time ago for the former Apopka High and University of Florida offensive lineman.
In 2019, for the first time in forever, Ivey found himself without a team, without a season and with plenty of time to reassess his life. He had been through a lot since high school, and the past two years, COVID-19 not withstanding, were perhaps the strangest time in his life.
As he continues to battle in the Carolina Panthers training camp, with another cut-day looming Tuesday, Ivey is hopeful that another year like 2019 remains in his past.
