Foundation Academy, the Orlando area’s No. 1 ranked small-school team, won 36-6 at Orangewood Christian in a Class 2A high school football region semifinal game on Friday night.
Danny Stutsman ran for 140 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. Travis Hutchinson added 150 yards and a score on the ground.
The Lions will be home next week to take on Lakeland Victory Christian (7-4) for the Region 2 title. Foundation’s past four playoff runs ended with losses to Victory Christian in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019.
Orangewood (7-4) finished with its best record since 2008 (8-4) in the 38th year of coaching for Bill Gierke, the winningest coach in Orlando area history.
