The Florida High School Athletic Association is inching closer to making a long-awaited announcement on where this year’s large class football state championship games will be played.
FHSAA executive director George Tomyn indicated news is forthcoming on where the Class 4A, 5A, 6A, 7A and 8A title games will be held next month during a Monday morning board of directors meeting in Gainesville.
“We don’t have any specific information [for football] and the venue, but I can share with you that we are very close to having a venue selected,” Tomyn told the board. “Some contractual issues are being worked out as we speak.
