FC Cincinnati select defender Saad Abdul-Salaam in Re-Entry Draft

In an attempt to bolster its back line, FC Cincinnati selected Saad Abdul-Salaam in Stage Two of the MLS Re-Entry Draft Tuesday.

Seattle Sounders FC cut Abdul-Salaam last month. The 28-year-old made 19 appearances with the Sounders last season. He was one of two players selected Tuesday, with Juan Agudelo picked by Toronto FC.

Abdul-Salaam’s MLS career started with Sporting Kansas City, which selected him 12th overall in the 2015 SuperDraft out of the University of Akron. He scored one goal in 64 appearances for Kansas City before moving on to New York City FC in 2018.
