Ferenac and Laszaic, senior defenders who suffered anterior cruciate ligament injuries a week apart in December, 2019, have been models of strength and perseverance throughout their recovery and return to the pitch this winter.
“They’ve been so resilient through all of this and a big inspiration for our team,” said Edgewater second-year coach Chris Vlaming.
Edgewater (12-5-2) hosts Lake Howell (6-9-0) in the Class 6A District 4 girls soccer championship game Tuesday at 7 p.m. It will be the first district final appearance for the Eagles since the program qualified for region play in back-to-back years in 2016 and 2017.
