Coach Doug Pederson’s vision for the future of the Philadelphia Eagles didn’t line up with that of owner Jeffrey Lurie, which ultimately led to Pederson being fired on Monday following a second meeting between the two in a week.
“Coach Pederson and I had the opportunity to sit down and discuss what the collective vision would look like moving forward,” Lurie said. “After taking some time to reflect on these conversations, I believe it is in both of our bests interests to part ways.
“I have known Doug and his family for more than 20 years and they will always be family to me.
