The Miami Dolphins trade of running back Kalen Ballage to the New York Jets has apparently fallen through.
According to an NFL Network report on Sunday, Ballage failed his physical with the Jets and will revert back to the Dolphins, who will likely now release him.
The Dolphins had agreed to a rare trade with their division rival Jets on Thursday, agreeing to send Ballage in exchange for a seventh-round conditional draft pick in 2021.
Ballage would have gotten a fresh start in New York by reuniting with former Dolphins coach Adam Gase, who drafted him in Miami, and veteran Frank Gore, who took him under his wing as a rookie in 2018.
