MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins safety Jevon Holland will now be wearing No. 8, his college jersey number at Oregon, during his rookie season in the NFL.
Holland, who was No. 22 throughout training camp and the preseason, had 8 open up because the previous holder, wide receiver Allen Hurns, was placed on season-ending injured reserve.
It appears he won’t be the only Dolphins rookie defensive back moving into single digits as undrafted cornerback Trill Williams is reportedly taking the No. 6 vacated by receiver Lynn Bowden’s placement on season-ending injured reserve, according to NFL Network.
