A beautiful Friday night greeted fans at Spec Martin Stadium and host DeLand got off to a strong start against Spruce Creek when Quarterback Aaron Manning found his receiver Travion Dixon for a shake and bake 49-yard touchdown.
Leading 8-0 later in the first it was running Back Cameron Catrell getting across the goal line to extend to a 16-0 advantage.
DeLand made that a 23-0 lead as Manning broke through the line for an 8-yard TD run and it looked like a runaway.
However, Spruce Creek head coach Andy Price was able to dial in his team in the second quarter.
