The Chicago Fire reportedly fired head coach Veljko Paunoviu0107 on Wednesday.
Paunoviu0107, 42, compiled a 41-58-37 record over four seasons with the Fire, who narrowly missed the 2019 playoffs by finishing eighth in the Eastern Conference.
The Athletic first reported the Serbian tactician had been fired, while the Chicago Tribune confirmed the news later on Wednesday. The Fire has yet to comment.
Paunoviu0107 joined the Fire in November 2015 after coaching stints with the Serbian U-18, U-19 and U-20 national teams. His greatest success came with the U-20 team, which won the 2015 FIFA Under-20 World Cup title under his care.
