Chicago Blackhawks give up 5 goals for the 3rd straight game, falling 5-2 to the Florida Panthers

Jonathan Huberdeau scored to cap a three-goal third period for the Florida Panthers as the Chicago Blackhawks lost 5-2 on Sunday in Sunrise, Fla.

The Hawks are 0-3 to start the season, also giving up five goals in back-to-back games last week against the Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning.

“It’s frustrating,” said Alex DeBrincat, who scored the Hawks’ first goal in the second period. “We work hard to get back in games. … They go down and score. We’ve got to — I feel like a broken record — but play a full 60 minutes.”

Before his team’s season opener, Panthers coach Joel Quenneville reminisced about his time at the helm for the Hawks, and he extended bragging rights against his old team to 2-0-1 dating to last season.
