On Tuesday, the Hornets avenged a playoff loss from last season to advance to the semifinal round for the first time since finishing state runners-up in 2016.
Bishop Moore (18-3-1) travels to Fort Lauderdale to face Cardinal Gibbons (10-2-1) in a Class 4A semifinal Friday at 7 p.m.
“We’re a very driven team and we’ve had the state final as a huge goal since the beginning of the season,” said Bishop Moore sophomore Kaitlyn Clark. “We’ve been working very hard to achieve that and to hopefully bring home a state trophy.”
