Bishop Moore’s varsity and junior varsity football teams have been quarantined “due to a positive COVID-19 test,” according to a message sent to parents from school administration late Wednesday afternoon.
That means Friday’s scheduled rivalry game between the Hornets and College Park neighbors Edgewater has been canceled. It is uncertain when Bishop Moore will return to the field this season.
“All games and practices will be canceled until further notice," stated the message. “This decision was made in consultation with the Florida Department of Health.”
Bishop Moore athletic director Mike Malatesta and head coach Matt Hedrick did not respond to calls and text messages from the Orlando Sentinel.
