Austin Jackson available for Dolphins’ opener at Patriots after activation from COVID list

FOXBOROUGH — Miami Dolphins left tackle Austin Jackson is available to play in Sunday’s regular-season opener at the New England Patriots.

A day after being activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list and deemed questionable for the Week 1 divisional showdown in Foxborough, the Dolphins announced the removal of that designation on Sunday morning.

Jackson, the second-year player and 2020 first-round pick, initially landed on the COVID list on Monday, along with tight end Adam Shaheen. Shaheen is yet to be activated.

Without Jackson at practice all week, Dolphins possibilities to replace him at left tackle included rookie second-round pick Liam Eichenberg and third-year tackle Greg Little, whom the Dolphins acquired in a training camp trade with the Carolina Panthers.
