“I can’t believe I’m a senior,” Martinez said during the preseason. “[Being at Apopka] has been the best thing for me, not just for football, but for helping make me a man. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
Martinez, a UCF commit, clinched a playoff win for the Blue Darters when he intercepted a pass vs. Oviedo as a freshman. After playing a vital role on a state runner-up team the following year, he intercepted two passes each against Winter Park and West Orange in back-to-back playoff games as a junior to help his team reach the state semifinal round.
