Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier closer to returning as Magic get back to work

You can hardly blame Orlando Magic coach Steve Clifford for getting excited about a Tuesday afternoon practice. Workouts have been limited by their condensed schedule and are less efficient with the slew of injuries to his team.

“We didn’t have to do drills with five of the coaches involved,” he said. “It was actually like a real NBA practice today.”

What the Magic, who were off Monday, got out of Tuesday’s workout was a chance to re-organize and re-energize amid their eight-game losing streak. In fact, Clifford characterized the practice as really good.

Clifford was referring, in part, to the team’s losing streak — its longest of the season and the second-longest in the Eastern Conference.
