American Athletic Conference commissioner Mike Aresco believes UCF’s historic run through the 2017-18 seasons which included a school-record 25-game winning streak, contributed to the current push for expanding the College Football Playoff.
UCF went undefeated in 2017, capturing the conference championship with a win over No. 20 Memphis only to finish No. 12 in the final Playoff rankings behind five 2-loss teams and a 3-loss Auburn team.
