And that Super Bowl-celebrating boat parade on the Hillsborough River could have been on Lake Eola with our beloved Orlando Buccaneers each paddling around the perimeter in their own personalized swan boats.

In the aftermath of Brady arriving in Tampa and the Buccaneers shocking the sports world and winning the Super Bowl, it makes you wonder what might have been if Orlando’s political leadership had done things differently a quarter-century ago.

“There is no doubt in my mind that the Bucs would have come to Orlando if Linda Chapin and our politicians had been more aggressive in pursuing them in 1995,” says Greg Warmoth, the respected WFTV-Channel 9 news anchor who was then a sports anchor in town covering the Bucs’ disenchantment with Tampa Bay and flirtation with Orlando.
