SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – OSU junior Colette Yamaoka has been named as the Pac-12 Gymnastics Coaches' Choice of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday. The conference coaches nominate and vote on this award, which was started by the coaches this season, and is given to a student-athlete for her strong performance and impact on her team.
Yamaoka, a junior, was an unheralded gymnast coming out of San Benito High where she trained at USA Sports in Hollister, Calif. Shortly after arriving on campus in Corvallis, she reached out to the Beavers' coaching staff to see about a spot on the team.
