The Boston Red Sox have selected Oregon State right-handed pitcher, Jake Thompson, with the 131st overall in the 4th of the 2017 MLB Draft.
Jake Thompson has been unbelievable this year for the 54-4, Omaha bound Beavers. After an up-and-down Oregon State career the redshirt junior engineered one of the best pitching seasons in recent memory. His 14-0 record places him first in the nation for wins and holds an insane 1.52 ERA. He’s pitched 118.1 innings and struck out 113 batters; all while allowing opponents to hit a paltry .184 from the plate.
