"For his size, he's a long-levered guy that can play in space," said running backs coach Telly Lockette, who recruited Smith. "In this league, if you don't have defenders that can cover in space, you're gonna be in for a long year. He kind of helps us in that area, bringing a longer guy that can cover in space and runs well."
