CORVALLIS – Senior Jamie Weisner has been named to the Naismith Trophy Midseason Watch List, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Wednesday. The guard is one of 30 players to make the watch list, which features five Pac-12 players.
The Naismith trophy is awarded annually to the players of the year in women’s and men’s college basketball. The award’s committee will narrow the field to 10 semifinalists on March 3, before announcing the four finalists on March 18.
Weisner, a Kinesiology major, has proven herself to be among the nation’s elite scorers, averaging 17.0 points per game, good for fourth in the Pac-12.
