CORVALLIS — The Oregon State men’s basketball team departed Monday for Spain, kicking off a 13-day European trip that will feature five games against professional opponents more than two months before the start of the Beavers’ 2017-18 season.
Perhaps no team in the country went through such a dramatic and up-and-down swing as OSU over the past two years. The Beavers reached the NCAA Tournament in 2016 for the first time in 26 years, but went 5-27 the following season after the loss of a large graduating class, multiple injuries and other departures.
Now entering year four in Corvallis, coach Wayne Tinkle believes the pieces are in place for a quick turnaround back to the form seen during his first two seasons at Oregon State.
