CORVALLIS - The windows on the first floor restaurant inside Le Meridien Barcelona face La Rambla, the tree-lined pedestrian mall in the capital of Catalonia.

It was through those widows two weeks ago that Oregon State men's basketball coach Wayne Tinkle witnessed emergency responders carrying a deceased 7-year-old boy away from the scene of a horrific terror attack on the popular tourist destination.

"I turned around and here's all the team seeing the same thing I just saw," Tinkle said Thursday.

The van attack that killed 14 people and injured more than 100 unfolded in front of the team during the first pre-game meal of a two-week summer excursion to Spain.
