Could a return to the Oregon State football coaching staff be in Mike Riley's future?
Riley sounded open to it during an interview that published Wednesday with Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald, who asked the former Beavers coach about returning to Oregon State in some capacity under former player and newly-named head coach Jonathan Smith.
"Jonathan needs to enjoy being named head coach," Riley said. "If there's a fit somewhere -- coach or consult -- yeah, that'd be awesome. But it has to be right fit for him."
McKewon reported that Riley and his wife, Dee, are moving back to Corvallis.
