CORVALLIS -- In the days since his weekend buzzer-beating three-pointer went viral, Oregon State students have been greeting Stephen Thompson Jr. around campus with a new nickname: "Twitterless Stevie."
The junior guard is the only player or coach on the men's basketball team without a Twitter account.
Teammates have tried to get him to create one over the past three years. But he has resisted, leading to the hashtag and new moniker from the Oregon State men's basketball account that took off Saturday following his game-winning three-pointer in double overtime to beat Washington.
