Tres Tinkle wins Pac-12 player of the week after consecutive double doubles

CORVALLIS — Oregon State sophomore forward Tres Tinkle earned the men's basketball season's first Pac-12 Player of the Week award, the conference announced Monday.

The 6-foot-8 sophomore averaged 23 points and 13.5 rebounds in the Beavers' first two games of the 2016-17 season.

Tinkle had 20 points and a career-high 15 rebounds in a 78-58 win over Prairie View A&M on Friday and then piled in a career-high 26 points in a 72-64 win over UTSA on Sunday, in addition to 12 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks.
