SAN FRANCISCO – Oregon State senior Travis Eckert has been named the Pac-12’s Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Eckert started in the series opener against Washington on Friday afternoon, striking out a career-high nine batters in five innings. He struck out two in each of his first four innings, then ended the fifth by spinning a 5-4-3 double play.
The Huskies managed three hits and three walks off Eckert, who improved to 3-2 this season.
The honor is the first of his career. It’s the fourth weekly honor of the season for the Beavers, who have also seen Nick Madrigal (Player), Logan Ice (Player) and Drew Rasmussen (Pitcher) recognized.
