CORVALLIS, Ore. – scored 21 points and Stephen Thompson Jr. added 16 in a 74-67 loss to USC on Saturday night at Gill Coliseum.
The Beavers (11-8, 3-4 Pac-12) opened the second half on a 12-2 run to take a 45-37 lead with 13:20 to play. USC cut the deficit to 49-47 before Thompson Jr. hit a jumper and drilled a 3-pointer to make it 54-47 Beavers with 8:06 on the clock.
The Trojans (15-6, 6-2) countered with an 18-0 run that included three 3-pointers by Jordan Usher and five free throws.
Oregon State chipped away, eventually cutting the 65-54 deficit to six points on four occasions, but were unable to get any closer.
