PHOENIX – Jake Thompson struck out a career-best 10, KJ Harrison tallied three hits and the Oregon State baseball team swept Arizona State with a 4-0 win over the Sun Devils Saturday at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
With the win, Oregon State (17-1 overall, 3-0 Pac-12 Conference) swept the Sun Devils in Arizona for the first time since the 1966 season. It is the fourth series victory for the Beavers at ASU (9-10, 0-3) and first since 2008.
The Beavers, ranked as high as No. 1 in the country, have won a school-record six consecutive games over Arizona State, stretching to a 2016 series sweep at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
