BERKELEY, Calif. – Oregon State was unable to carry forward the momentum of its previous two efforts Saturday, hanging tough with Cal but losing a statistically one-sided 37-23 game.
Cal has a small post-game news conference room for the visiting team, which meant Oregon State athletic director Scott Barnes was not far from the podium when players continued to publicly advocate for interim coach Cory Hall.
Quarterback Darell Garretson and tight end Noah Togiai both came out strong in their support of Hall, as was noted in my game story. Togiai, who was part of Gary Andersen’s first recruiting class, was out in front early this week advocating for Hall.
