LOS ANGELES -- Elijah Stewart scored 28 points to lead Southern California to a 72-59 victory over Oregon State on Saturday night.
Stewart shot a blistering 9 of 10 from the floor, including 5-of-5 shooting from 3-point range. Jordan McLaughlin added 13 points and 11 assists for the Trojans (19-9, 10-5 Pac-12 Conference).
USC remains tied for second place in the conference standings with UCLA, which beat Oregon 86-78 in overtime.
Oregon State (13-13, 5-9), in 10th place in the standings, played USC close but wilted down the stretch. The Beavers were outscored 17-8 in the final six minutes.
