Thompson originally declared for the draft at the end of March with fellow teammate Drew Eubanks, but did not hire an agent giving him an opportunity to return to Corvallis for his junior season. Thompson averaged 16.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG and 3.0 APG during his sophomore season.

Eubanks also did not hire an agent and has until until May 24th to formally withdraw his name from the NBA draft.
