SEATTLE -- Alanna Smith scored 18 points, and No. 2 seed Stanford climbed out of a double-digit first-half deficit to beat top seed Oregon State 48-43 to win the Pac-12 tournament championship Sunday night at KeyArena.
The loss likely locks OSU, which won the conference regular-season title and swept Stanford in the regular season, into a No. 2 seed for the NCAA Tournament.
After OSU bolted out to a 13-point lead in the first quarter, the Cardinal outscored the Beavers 25-14 in the second half. Stanford made its charge with a 9-0 run in the third quarter, before snagging the advantage for good when a Smith layup made the score 38-36 with 7:28 to play.
