The Oregon State Beavers football program has experienced more than its fair share of turbulence of the past several months.
But throughout that entire process, Oregon State has been able to lean on a solid foundation with the 2018 recruiting class.
The most notable name in that group was unquestionably ESPN/Rivals four-star quarterback Spencer Petras, who spent his senior season breaking Jared Goff's passing records at Marin Catholic High School (Kentfield, California).
On Friday, however, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound signal-caller and class headliner announced he was flipping his commitment from the Beavers to the Iowa Hawkeyes:

"Through diligent thought, council and prayers, I have decided to move my commitment from Oregon St(ate) to the Iowa Hawkeyes," he wrote.
