Slocum Headed to USA U23 Training Camp

Corvallis – Oregon State guard Destiny Slocum has accepted an invitation to attend the 2017 USA Basketball Women's U23 National Team Training Camp, the organization announced Tuesday.

The camp, which features 40 of the nation's top collegiate players, will take place from July 31-Aug. 4 at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. A 12-player squad, which will be selected on Aug. 4, will take part in the 2017 U23 Four Nations Tournament in Tokyo, Japan. Louisville head coach Jeff Walz has been tabbed to lead the team.

Slocum, who helped the USA Basketball U19 Team win gold at the 2015 World Championships, joined the Beavers as a transfer in May after earning WBCA National Freshman of the Year honors last season at Maryland.
