CORVALLIS, Ore. – Six members of the Oregon State wrestling team earned preseason Top-20 rankings from The Open Mat website on Tuesday.
Junior All-American heavyweight Amarveer Dhesi, who took fifth place at the 2016 NCAA Championships with a 5-2 record, earned the highest ranking, No. 4. Dhesi was 32-5 last season, was the Pacific-12 Conference Wrestler of the Year and earned the Most Outstanding Wrestler award at the Pac-12 tournament while winning his weight class.
Junior 125-pounder Ronnie Bresser (31-9) was ranked No. 7. He placed second at the Pac-12 tournament and was 3-2 at NCAAs after advancing for the second year in a row.
