Scott Rueck has been named one of four finalists for the Naismith Trophy given to college women's basketball's Coach of the Year, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.
Rueck has guided the Beavers to unprecedented success this season, repeating as Pac-12 regular-season champions (sharing that title with Arizona State), winning the conference tournament for the first time in school history and earning a program-best No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. OSU's 28 wins are also its most ever, while its No. 6 ranking in the Associated Press poll is the highest in program history. The Beavers also navigated more than a month of play without All-Pac-12 point guard Sydney Wiese while she nursed a broken hand.
