Oregon State alum Ruth Hamblin has made the opening day/regular season roster of the Dallas Wings of the WNBA. The WNBA season kicks off tomorrow, and the final roster cuts came yesterday, and Hamblin, the 2 time All-Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, was one of 2 newcomers to make the Wings roster.
Hamblin was a second round selection in the WNBA draft, and joins first round pick Aerial Powers on the roster.
Hamblin, at 6'6", is the tallest player on the Wings' roster, and played in both of Dallas' preseason games. She had 9 points, 2 rebounds, a block, and a steal in 17 minutes in a 108-90 loss to Indiana, and 4 points and 5 boards in an 82-74 loss to Connecticut.
