Rushing attack propels Oregon State to Civil War victory

CORVALLIS – As the downpour began pounding Reser Stadium, the message to Ryan Nall and the rest of the Oregon State offense was loud and clear.

"(The coaches) just said, straight-up, 'We're gonna run the ball. We're not gonna pass it,'" Nall recalled.

And the Beavers did indeed run the ball. Again and again and again. Their 21 consecutive rushing plays propelled the Beavers to three unanswered touchdown drives to close the gap, seize the lead and then finish off a 34-24 Civil War victory Saturday in Corvallis, their first win over the Ducks since 2007.

"To run the ball physically and enforce our will on them all game," starting left tackle Sean Harlow said, "there's just nothing better.
